Two years ago, our family was struggling with many things including depression, shame, hopelessness, anger, loneliness, miscommunication, past and present hurts, bad habits, and loss of confidence/identity. Rock Solid Families started out as coaching for myself during difficult marriage and parenting seasons. Merrill and Linda gave me several tools to navigate the struggles I was dealing with, but more than that they taught me the importance of a good marriage and strong community. They are far more than coaches. They lead by example and point you to the most important person, Jesus Christ. Rock Solid Families is on a mission to build strong families and they’re doing just that! Initially, I came to Rock Solid Families at the recommendation of some friends for marriage coaching. Unfortunately, those sessions eventually turned into individual coaching after my marriage came to an end, but little did I know that loss would turn into an amazing faith journey and a complete rebuild and restoration of my life. My coach helped me work through anxiety and reprioritize my relationships first with Jesus, then with my friends and family. Faith based coaching led to deeper connections, restored relationships with my dad, and helped me become the best single father I can be for my teenage daughter. After learning to see myself the way God sees me—with His grace—it opened the door for healing and new beginnings. In God’s timing, I met a God-fearing woman, and together we’re seeking His kingdom and learning to love and encourage each other the way He’s called us to. I first came to Rock Solid Families in 2019, and it completely changed the trajectory of my faith and my life. Families 2022. After a few months of secular therapy, I realized it lacked something and I knew that it lacked God. My sessions, which included reviewing scripture and incorporating God into challenging situations, immediately made a difference. As a lifelong young adult Christian, I found myself in what was possibly the most difficult time of my life and needed guidance. My coach helped me navigate this situation, inviting God into the center. This relationship that was struggling is now healing and growing, and I’ve learned to manage emotions and situations better, benefiting my family. God refined me, and I feel closer to Him than ever. I now feel equipped to handle difficult situations, but I know Rock Solid Families will always be there whenever I need them.

Rock Solid Families has been such a blessing to my family. I met with my coach for the first time a year ago. I was filled with anxious thoughts, fear, and inappropriate guilt. These things resulted from many years of infertility and subsequently believing in lies that took root so deep that I didn't even know they were there. I was lost and insecure in my relationships and couldn't be a strong stable presence for my kids or family. My coach, in her loving patient way, walked with me as I uncovered all these lies and pain. I can now feel God's Joy, experience his Grace, and trust in his Hope because I now know of his unconditional love. Our relationships should be and can follow these same principles and when they do, they wipe out fear and lies. I now completely believe that God's Love is not earned or deserved based on our deeds or actions. God gives it freely, just as we are.
